The FBI conducted search warrants at more than 15 locations across Houston: Here’s what we know

HOUSTONFBI Houston, along with local law enforcement, is conducting a sweeping court-authorized operation at more than 15 locations throughout the Houston area Tuesday.

Search warrants are being served across the city related to illegal gaming and potentially public corruption

FBI agents are joined by partners from the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office, the U.S. Marshals Service, Houston Fire Department, Houston Police Department, and Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said there is no threat to public safety, but law enforcement will be at the locations for several hours.

Due to the active federal investigation, additional details were not provided.

KPRC 2 reporter Corley Peel confirmed Star Video, located at 3730 Broadway St., was one of the businesses being investigated Tuesday.

Beatrice Lopez says she’s never noticed anything suspicious at Star Video. She says she plays games at the business often and sometimes wins $600 to $800.

A man who works at a business next door says he has seen law enforcement at the Star Video in the past few months.

Gaming machines were also seen being removed from a business in Galveston where the FBI served another search warrant.

No arrests were made Tuesday.
